High Commissioner stool

Salvaged solid oak flooring and recycled copper water piping were used to create this stool with a sliding backrest. The stool has been lightly scorched to bring out the grain. Inspired by animal markings such as tortoise shell and snake skin, I wanted to emphasise the oak's own natural patterns and markings. Together with the moving backrest this stool takes on its own animalistic form.
